Mice proofing
The best way to prevent Mice entering your property is to close any holes or entry points that lead into the property. Mice have a soft skeletons which allows them to squeeze into tiny gaps as small as the width of a pencil/pen [6mm]. If you do prevent Mice entering your property, it will reduce health risk and damage they can cause.

Here are some tips to help prevent mice from entering your property:

Doors - fitting bristle strips to the bottom of doors prevents entry, especially where the door fit may not be snug.

Pipework - seal holes around existing or new pipes with coarse grade stainless steel wire wool and expanding foam.

Holes - these are often made in exterior walls for cables and pipes, use sealent and wire mesh.

Air Bricks and Vents - cover these with air brick covers (especially if they are damaged) to allow air to circulate but prevent mice from entering.
mouse mesh provide us with their air brick covers.

Mice can also enter your property by finding their way from pipework that leads to underneath your kitchen and behind the kick boards. Once you identify the hole around the pipework you should see signs of Mice such as smear marks, gnaw marks and droppings. to prevent them entering this way again you should pack the hole with wire wool [compact it in tightly] then cover the wire wool with expanding foam.

When a door isn't snug with the floor, it is easy access for mice to simply walk under the door and into your property. To prevent this we fit bristle strips which stops Mice entering your property.

Proofing is super important as it stops mice from entering propertys and causing health risks such as hantavirus, salmonella, and lymphocytic choriomeningitis (LCMV) through their waste, even if you are careful not to touch them. Mouse feces and urine can dry and turn to dust, spreading viruses through the air we breathe.

Hantavirus infections are caused by a group of viruses which are carried by rodents. They can cause very serious diseases: haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS).
